Here’s how to cast your ballot in Carver

With early voting starting in less than one month and just over 40 days until Nov. 5, Election Day is right around the corner. Here’s how you can cast your vote in Carver:

This year’s Election Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and in-person voting for all Carver precincts will be held inside the Carver Middle High School gym at 60 South Meadow Road, according to the Carver Town Clerk’s office. On election day, polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. To cast your vote on Election Day, you must be in line to vote by 8 p.m.

Early voting will be held at the Carver Town Hall in Basement Meeting Room 4 starting on Saturday, Oct. 19. The last day to cast an early vote is on Friday, Nov. 1.

According to the town clerk’s office, early voting hours will be as follows:

Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The last day to register to vote in Massachusetts ahead of this year’s election is on Saturday, Oct. 26. Voters can register online, by mail or in person at the town hall.

To vote by mail, ballot requests must reach the town’s election office by Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. According to the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office, voters are recommended to apply as early as possible to receive their ballot on time, at least two to three weeks before Election Day.

Town Clerk Cara Dahill recommended that voters try to vote as early as they can and return their ballots as early as possible.

According to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office, vote by mail applications are sent to voters 45 days before the election. If you do not have a request form that was sent out via mail, vote by mail applications are available online here.

Once you receive a ballot, it cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day, according to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office. To return your ballot, you can mail it back using the provided envelope, deliver it to the election office or early voting location inside the town hall or use a ballot drop box. There is a ballot drop box in the parking lot outside of the town hall.
