Hello Carver! There are lots of events happening around town this week to get you in the autumn mood and involved in the community. Here are some of my top picks:
Listen to some spooky Massachusetts stories
The Council on Aging is hosting a “Slightly Spooky Massachusetts” event on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 12:30 p.m. to tell some of the state’s spooky stories including the haunted Hoosac Tunnel and Metropolitan State Hospital. There will also be a halloween-themed raffle at the event. Register with Alice at 508-866-4698 or email alice.mcmahon@carverma.gov.
Vote at the Special Town Meeting
Carver is set to take up a number of articles, including deciding whether to accept a compliance plan for the controversial MBTA Communities Act, at a Special Town Meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 in the Carver Middle High School auditorium. Check in begins at 5:30 p.m., according to the town clerk’s office. Perform your civic duty by showing up to vote! Check out the meeting warrant here.
Take a Yoga class!
Come by a yoga class at the Carver Public Library on Friday, Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m. It costs $5 to attend and no registration is required.
Oktoberfest at Three Sips Brewing Company
Stop by Three Sips Brewing Company in South Carver on Saturday, Oct. 11, for live music, steins and games in celebration of Oktoberfest. More information can be found on the brewery’s Facebook page.
