Carver has become a news desert. In 2022, the Carver Reporter stopped publishing, leaving Carver without a local news source to fairly and accurately report on town government and events. The Carver Journal seeks to help fill some of the gap that was left. The news site provides comprehensive coverage of Carver’s most important events to help ensure that the public is engaged and informed. The site was launched in June 2024 by a local college student.
Please be patient as we get started, while regular coverage is ideal, our staff is volunteer-based and limited in capacity. We do not have the same output capabilities as a professional newspaper. Many hands make light work though, and if you are interested in becoming a volunteer staff writer for the Carver Journal, please reach out. Journalism experience is always welcome, but it is not required. I am happy to train anyone who is interested in learning to write news stories.
Our mission: The Carver Journal strives to publish accurate information about news and events happening around our town. Our goal is to increase residents’ knowledge about what’s going on in Carver, promoting public engagement and awareness.
